Thank You

To my constituents in District 10 and the citizens of the Town of Fairfield,

As I stood on the stage of the Fairfield Warde High School Auditorium reciting the Oath of Office with my District 10 colleagues last Monday evening, I felt both honored to be elected and privileged to begin my service to the citizens of the Town of Fairfield on the Representative Town Meeting.

To echo the sentiment eloquently expressed by First Selectman Mike Tetreau opening the Elected Officials Inauguration Ceremony, "there is no democracy without people who are willing to sacrifice their time for the good of the community" by running for office and contributing to the process. As such, all candidates should be commended and congratulated for their selfless efforts and tireless dedication to the Town of Fairfield.

I would like to especially thank all of the citizens who came to the polls on Election Day to cast their ballots and preserve the democratic process. I am grateful for their support and vote of confidence in my ability to serve them and the Town of Fairfield. Toward that end, I appreciated all who took the time to speak with me and my running mates on the many Saturday and Sunday afternoons in the weeks preceding Election Day as well as those who invested the time to talk prior to entering the polls on November 5th. I valued all of the questions posed, comments made, and concerns raised by the many engaged citizens I am now privileged to represent in District 10.

As promised throughout my campaign, I will work steadfastly to address all of the issues most near and dear to the hearts of my constituents and have already begun so doing. I pledge to focus my efforts on fiscal responsibility, public health, safety, and emergency preparedness for all of those residing in District 10 and throughout the entire Town of Fairfield.

Once again, I appreciate all who advanced the democratic process by campaigning for office and/or casting their ballot on Election Day. I thank all who afforded me the opportunity to hear their voice and listen to their many heartfelt concerns. And, most importantly, I am extremely grateful for the votes of all who supported my election to represent them and serve our town. I remain committed to working for all of the citizens of the Town of Fairfield and feel both honored and privileged to do so in the months and years to follow.

Respectfully,

Bill Perugini
Town of Fairfield
RTM, District 10
